Another useless interview I had with another MNC company.
Now such fake interviews by these companies have become a kind of trend to show their fake growth in the market.
This time it was WellsFargo
I got the call from recruiter(Laxman) from LiveConnections & I explained him about my profile. 2 days later telephonic interview was scheduled. First round was fine as interviewer (Ravi from WellsFargo) was able to put his questions clearly with sensible expectations.
But I believed something wrong in the purpose of these interviews.
So I checked with LiveConnections(Laxman) about the candidates names who cleared first round. After seeing the names & behavior of interviewer, I told Laxman that result of these interviews is already decided & interviews are just mere show game.
Next day I had 2nd round(Gowtham from WellsFargo) & again it was telephonic. This round was kind of crazy where problem was sensible but expecting the perfect answers for those requirements over the call same time was nonsense. Plus interviewer himself was not clear what he wants to ask exactly.
I got the idea same time that this interview is just a formality, nothing more.
2nd Interview Round by Gowtham :
What API you will need to get the data from Twitter on the basis of certain messages?
What protocol you will use to get the data in real time & why?
What kind of architecture you will have to ingest that data in real time?
How you will process the data to provide the analytics?
Why can't you use multithreading here?
How you will manage a cluster of microservices?
How you will analyse the response codes being returned by each microservices?
So all kind of questions were around this with the expectation that I need to know the answers properly for every such problem.
I just suggested to use Kubernetes like setup, over this he said that they don't use Kubernetes.
Now tell how will you manage & analyse the response codes.
And I should be able to tell the solutions over the same phone call.
I am not sure if technical acumen was being measured or the tolerance level.
I was like did you guys even get any idea about this over a single call?
I got the call from HR(Niranjan) of WellsFargo that I have cleared that round also & I will have final discussion next day.
But I knew that something fishy is here & I got the meeting invite for next day.
I waited but I didn't get the call & then on checking with Laxman(LiveConnections), he told me that there is no interview & then he himself vanished.
So my doubt about this 1 week of interview drama was correct.
Observation:
And similar cases I have observed for various companies & recruiters who seem to give fake job openings in market, may be to give illusion about their growth & fool their investors.
